ALLY SNUBS A PERSISTENT ADMIRER ONLY TO DISCOVER HE’S A JUDGE IN HER CASE -- At her regular coffee shop, Ally (Calista Flockhart) repeatedly rejects the barista Hammond (guest star Mark Feuerstein) for being too forward, only to later learn he’s presiding as a judge in a court matter she’s handling. After antagonistic courtroom encounters and even a brief stint in contempt, they eventually resolve their clash and agree to go on a date. Meanwhile, John (Peter MacNicol) grows frustrated when Nelle (Portia de Rossi) admits elitist views about “small” people, and Billy (Gil Bellows) finally kisses his assistant Sandy (guest star Gina Philips). Georgia (Courtney Thorne-Smith), Elaine (Jane Krakowski), Ling (Lucy Liu), and Renee (Lisa Nicole Carson) also appear. Vonda Shepard also stars.
